Learn how this works+
Why it's cheaper Nintendo sets its own price in every region, and some regions are simply cheaper than the US. We buy where it costs less. It's the same game, the same download and the same Nintendo servers — nothing changes but the price tag.
Why you can't do it yourself The cheaper store only takes cards issued in that country, so a US or European card gets declined at checkout. That's the wall, and no workaround gets past it. We buy the credit through a regional distributor instead, and you pay us with an ordinary card.

The catalog

Every title is genuine Japan eShop credit, delivered as a redeemable code.

For buyers

Redeem your code.

You buy a code. You set your account to Japan once. You redeem the code. The game is yours.

1

Set your account region to Japan

Sign in at accounts.nintendo.com in a browser. Change Country/Region to Japan. This is an account setting, not a console setting. Spend any leftover wallet balance first — it doesn't carry over.

2

Open the eShop on your Switch

It loads the Japanese store, priced for that region. Your existing games and saves stay put.

3

Enter your code

eShop → your icon → Enter Code. Type the 16-character code from your email. The credit lands in your wallet.

4

Buy the game

Use the wallet balance to buy the title. It's yours permanently, on any account that owns it.

Why is it cheaper in Japan? +
Regional pricing. Nintendo sets a different list price in each country — wages and local markets differ — and Japan's list price for first-party titles is simply lower. Nothing here is discounted, cracked or grey-imported: it's the same download from the same Nintendo servers, with the same updates and DLC. The only thing that changes is which country's price you pay.
Can't I just buy the Japanese credit myself? +
The short answer is that your card won't work. The Japanese eShop expects a card issued in Japan with a Japanese billing address, so a US or European card is normally declined at checkout — you can switch your account region for free, but you'll hit a wall the moment you try to pay. The Japanese shops that sell eShop credit directly have the same problem: a Japanese account, address or bank account to check out with. That's the actual barrier, and it isn't something a workaround fixes. We source our credit through a regional distributor, which is how we get around it legitimately. You pay us with an ordinary card and the code lands in your inbox.
Will my games be in Japanese? +
No. First-party Switch games include English. Set your console language to English and the game follows.
Do I lose my current games? +
No. Purchases and saves stay on your account. Only unspent wallet balance is lost when you switch country, so spend it first.
How fast do I get the code? +
Within 24 hours of your payment clearing. Your code is emailed to the address you use at checkout.
How do I know this is legit? +
Fair question — you should be careful buying digital codes anywhere. A few concrete things: your card is charged through Square's own secure checkout, not on our site, so we never see or store your card details. Every order is backed by our written guarantee — if a code doesn't arrive within 24 hours or won't redeem, we resend it or refund you in full. And you can reach a real person at redshelldeals@gmail.com before or after you buy. If anything feels off, email us first.
What if my code doesn't work? +
Email redshelldeals@gmail.com with your order details. If the code hasn't been redeemed yet and won't work, we'll send a replacement or refund you in full. The one thing we can't refund is a code that has already been successfully redeemed into a wallet — at that point the credit is yours and out of our hands.
